In the sweltering 95+ degree heat a small group photographing friends headed to Ocean Grove, NJ to see what we could find. What we found were two seaside towns with lots of character.

Our first stop of the morning was the Bake Shop on Main Street in Ocean Grove where were had iced coffee and pastries. Followed by a visit to the Tent City

Next we walked the short distance to the town of Asbury Park. While Ocean Grove was historic, quaint and well maintained Asbury Park is the opposite and what remains of the glory days is a sight to behold.

Two of my favorite remains of the day, were the carousel house and the casino.

Carousel House
The once vibrant carousel is long forgotten. What remains is longing to be restored.
